Most perfumes on the market these days are gone and forgotten before you can say au revoir. But, there are a few classics that have stood the test of time -- and for good reason: they're as drop-dead gorgeous now as they were when they were introduced (I'm completely smitten with these for spring and summer!).
Whether you're a vintage vixen or someone who prides herself on her modern sensibilities, these six scents promise to make an impression. Nothing fusty or musty here: only bright, vibrant, and unforgettable.
Chanel No. 22 (1922)
A silky white floral featuring jasmine, orange blossom, violet, and rose on a soft, sweet base of tonka and benzoin.
Robert Piguet Fracas (1948)
An opulent, over-the-top tuberose scent -- not for the shy type! Director and "it girl" Sofia Coppola counts this among her favorite scents.
Jean Patou Joy (1929)
One of the juiciest, most intense rose-jasmine florals ever made.
Dior Diorissimo (1956)
A current favorite of mine -- the clean, crisp lily of the valley is perfectly balanced with rich, heady jasmine.
Houbigant Quelques Fleurs (1913)
A vibrant floral bouquet featuring crisp green notes.
Creed Fleurissimo (1956)
This classic floral fragrance was commissioned by Prince Rainier for actress Grace Kelley. It was made to complement the royal bouquet Kelley carried down the aisle.
