AN INDIE SUMMER: MUST-TRY WARM WEATHER FRAGRANCES

Looking for a new summer go-to scent? Want something different than the typical department store offerings? Check out these fabulous finds from The Olfactory's sponsors.

I'm not one for fragrance rules, and seasonal scents are a matter of debate. But, I have to admit that I like changing my fragrances (and my wardrobe) as the seasons come and go. With the approach of summer, I'm setting my sights on bright, fresh scents and fragrance notes that will make me feel cool and energized. Think: soft skin scents, fruit notes, and fresh florals.

Balmy Days and Sundays by San Francisco perfume house Ineke Perfumer is a green floral featuring fresh freesia, sweet honeysuckle, and dew-covered grass. It's the equivalent of lying in the park on a warm day and staring at the clouds pass by...

Perfect Veil by California perfumer Sarah Horowitz is so good, it should be illegal. Celebrities swear by it (Rachel Zoe is a huge fan) and for good reason: it's soft, subtle, and sexy -- a skin scent equally as appropriate for the beach as for a sultry night out.

Lucille by Sweet Anthem, a Seattle-based perfumery that specializes in cruelty-free, vegan fragrances, features top notes of "sea air" and hints of jasmine, linden blossom, and rosewood. A little salty, a little sweet, and very evocative of a summer night by the sea.

Fiori D'Arancio by Tsi La is a delicious organic fragrance with juicy notes of orange blossom, tangerines, neroli, and caramelized vanilla. It's like an orange creamsicle straight from the ice cream truck!

What is your go-to summer fragrance?
